Our Commitment to Safety

SAFETY FIRST ON AND OFF THE ROAD

AX Transportation strives for excellence in everything they do, most importantly operating to rigorous safety standards, ensuring the safety of employees and customers, at workplaces and on the road.As part of their commitment to safety, AX Transportation tractors and trailers are serviced every 15,000 miles (24,140km), rotating between a wet service including oil changes, fluid checks, filter changes, and a dry service involving checking for mechanical issues and greasing the tractor and trailer.

Tractors in the AX Transportation fleet are equipped with elite pre-pass transponders which enable them to bypass DOT checkpoints and toll roads. The transponders were issued to AX Transportation due to their safe Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) scores received from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This safety enforcement program is based on carrier performance driven by data collected on AX Transportation by the administration. The benefits of bypassing checkpoints and tolls with the elite transponders significantly reduce the company’s down time and allow drivers to stay on the road, eliminating fees that would typically be passed on to clients.

Additional safety measures taken by AX Transportation include the requirement for drivers to undertake a four-week intensive driver training program to learn how to operate the fleet. Standard equipment loading procedures are also covered in this comprehensive course. AX Transportation drivers are also required to be OSHA certified on forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts to ensure safe handling and delivery of equipment.
